Zhen is a PhD student at the Melville Laboratory for Polymer Synthesis in University of Cambridge.

Zhen is from Heilongjiang, China. He received his B.S. and M.S. in Chemistry from Renmin University of China under the supervision of Prof. Yapei Wang, where he mainly worked on the self-assembly of biocompatible and biodegradable linear block copolymers, the preparation of double emulsions, and the light utilisation via photothermal conversion.

He is currently a second-year PhD student supervised by Prof. Silvia Vignolini, in Bio-inspired Photonics group at University of Cambridge. During PhD, he is seeking a line of interdisciplinary research combining self-assembly, emulsions, and light manipulation all together. His research interests focus on the synthesis of bio-based brush block copolymers and their applications in structural colours.
